Fraudsters IN Nigeria Are Able To Find Internet Banking Details From Recycled PCs

When you update our pc’s hardware, what do you think is done with the old hardware? Do you donate your computer equipment to charity or do you just throw it in the dustbin. Before you disposed of the hardware did you clean out all the files and documents that you had stored on that pc or do you believe that it will not be misused by anyone else or that there was nothing to be deleted because you never used your pc for banking.

In Nigeria there was a report made on the fraudsters that would acquire computers from UK council recycling points. With the information that was stored on the computers hard drive fraudulent transactions were made also bank details belonging to thousands of Britons were sold in West Africa for less than £20 each.

"It is surprising how easy it is to obtain documents people leave on their computers," said Mr Roberts, who is head of identity fraud at CPP Group. Real Story found that second-hand computers from all over the developed world could be found in virtually every PC market in Nigeria's commercial capital of Lagos. Justin Made This hh
